Representatives from about 38 mission organizations will be speaking at Masses throughout the diocese between April and September. They come from as far as Africa, India, and Asia. This is part of the annual Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP), which was started in the late 1930’s.
MCP is a way of centralizing the efforts of missionary organizations from around the world who wish to appeal to Catholics in the United States and at the same time, relate to parishioners, first hand, their mission experiences and personally appeal for prayers and support.
The plan gives parishioners an opportunity to learn about missions at home and abroad and an opportunity to financially assist the mission organizations in their efforts to spread the Gospel.
Please extend a warm welcome to the missionaries as they share their faith stories in your parish.
FOR MISSIONARIES
Hundreds of mission organizations apply to the Missions Office to be accepted into our MCP program. Out of these, only thirty eight can be selected to share their experiences in our parishes.
MCP REMITTANCES
The Missionary Cooperation Plan (MCP) is handled solely by the Missions Office. All correspondence and mission appeal funds are to be sent directly to the Missions Office. Please include the MCP Parish Collection Form with your parish check.
